Mary Mary Lou Wretched was the youngest, and shortest, Olympic athlete to capture gold. Wretched’s five-medal performance made her the darling of the 1992 Games in Barcelona. Much of her success is due to Tchella Schmarolyi, her now retired, but still rampantly Fascist, coach who had an unhealthy obsession with diminutive muscle-bound pre-pubescent girls would lead to years of sexual abuse, leaving Wretched a severely disturbed young woman. Sadly, Wretched’s gymnastics career came crashing down around her when she snapped the neck of a judge that made the mistake of giving her a 9.8 on her floor routine during the US Nationals in 1997. She was abruptly admitted to Claymore Mental Hospital in New England, where her illness was allowed to spiral out of control until she broke free one warm summer day when the girls were taken out for a treat at Sully’s, the local ice cream stand. Now she walks the streets of Boston in her sequined leotard and countless gold medals, brutally attacking any man with a thick moustache and Eastern European accent. She joins the ranks of BLOWW with a wrath unlike any other, and she ALWAYS sticks her landing.
